Old Richmond Road to Close for Cross-Drain Replacement
KYTC will close Old Richmond Road in Lexington between Walnut Hill Road and Delong Road starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, to replace a cross drain. Weather permitting, the work should be finished Wednesday. The closure is complete: no vehicles, including local and emergency traffic, can pass through the work zone. Drivers should detour via Athens-Boonesboro Road and South Cleveland Road, and message boards near the I-75 off-ramps and at the closure will point out the detour.

Lexington Signal Changes: Jacobson Park and Versailles Road
After more than 50 crashes near the Jacobson Park entrance since 2022, three of them fatal, including the recent death of 41-year-old AJ Glasscock, the city and KYTC banned left turns on flashing yellow arrows from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Old Richmond Road and Athens-Boonesboro Road. Mayor Linda Gorton said a planned state widening project will move the park entrance opposite Ellerslie and add a signal. In August, a new traffic light went into operation on Versailles Road at the left turn onto New Circle Road's outer loop, reorganizing turn and through movements at the interchange.
