Work on US 62 Green River Bridge
Posted: 30-Sep-2009 6:37PM CDT

From Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways (Sept. 23, 2009):

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the US 62 Green River Bridge at Rockport starting Monday, September 28, 2009.
The lane restriction is to allow repair work on the bridge deck.
The Green River Bridge is on US 62/Central City-Beaver Dam Road at the Ohio-Muhlenberg County Line.
Traffic flow will be maintained in the work zone by an automated traffic signal. The clear lane will have a maximum load width of 10 ft.
Motorists should be alert for equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel on the bridge deck in close proximity to traffic flow.
Also known as the Rockport Bridge, the structure carries approximately 2,000 vehicles across the Green River in an average day.
M&M Services is the prime contractor on this $972,750 highway improvement project. Work at the site is expected to take 40 calendar days.
