North Fork of Kentucky River bridge on KY 3193 in Breathitt County closed due to damage
JACKSON, Ky. – The bridge crossing the North Fork of the Kentucky River on KY 3193 (Wolverine Road) at mile marker 4 has been closed following the discovery of damage to a brace on the truss bridge.
The bridge will remain closed until further notice.
This bridge was built in 1910 as a railroad structure that has since been coverted to highway use. It was painted and rehabilitated in 2015. It has a posted weight limit of 3 tons and is rated in poor condition.
Signs and barricades will be placed to warn motorists of the closure. Drivers are reminded that it is illegal to move or drive around a barricade in order to drive on a closed bridge or highway.
