Site Feature: I-75 Clay's Ferry Bridge Photos
When the first part of this bridge opened in 1946 it was the 7th tallest bridge in the United States. Today it is still an engineering wonder; two parallel bridges were joined together by a third bridge to form one continuous roadway. On July 5, 2003, I took these pictures of the I-75's crossing of the Kentucky River: the Clay's Ferry Bridge.

Site Redesigned
KentuckyRoads.com is currently undergoing renovation. Some of the URLs have changed; however, all of the content is still here. The navigation links on the left of the page can help locate desired information.
More information will be posted soon. Until then feel free to explore the new image galleries and browse the list of topics. You are also encouraged to post comments about your favorite news items.
KentuckyRoads.com Has Been Redesigned
I have recently completed a redesign of the KentuckyRoads.com website. My intention was to provide easier access to the information within site. Among the new features is a list of all topic used to categorize items on the site. I will also begin categorizing items by county where applicable.
Many of the topic pages are very slim in content; however, I will work to develop them as time permits.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions email me. My email address is <jeff@kentuckyroads.com>.

Site Features: Site Restored
On July 23, 2002, my internet hosting provider suffered a series of hard drive crashes. All of my websites, including KentuckyRoads.com, and any backups were lost. I believe I have now managed to restore all of the news items and site features from my local backups of the site.
Site Features: New Natcher Bridge Photographs
I've updated the William H. Natcher Bridge page with pictures that I took on June 25 and February 16. The bridge and the Kentucky approach appear to be essentially complete. There was some work underway to install lighting along the bridge. The Indiana approach is still under construction.

2002 Work Zone Information Posted
The Travel Information section of this website has been updated with information about Summer 2002 work zones. A transportation cabinet map of Summer 2002 work zones can be found here
. The transportation cabinet has also posted driving tips
(PDF format) and a work zone fact sheet
.
Site Updates
All of the links in the news items have been checked. Many of the links to older newspaper articles are now broken; however, I have managed to find some of the articles archived at archive.org
and have linked to the archive where appropriate. In the past I have asked a couple of newspapers that regularly remove their articles if I could archive their stories online; however, both newspapers refused. I will continue to try to use as much information from those sources without infringing their copyrights.
Also, the KYTC Division of Planning
has recently redesigned their website (twice actually), and I have updated all of the links to that website.
Site Feature: New I-65 Construction Pictures
Forty-six new images have been added of I-65 Construction. These images show scrap I-beams that are going to be used to construct pedestrian bridges and images from several bridges and overpasses along I-65.
Site Feature: New I-65 Construction Pictures
Two new pictures have been added to the I-65 Construction feature. They show the north bound view of the construction north of Exit 28 in Warren County.
Site Feature: William H. Natcher Bridge
A new feature on the William H. Natcher Bridge has been added to the web site. It contains an overview of the project, a map of the project area, photographs of the bridge taken on August 9, 2001, and links to other sources of information about the bridge.
The William H. Natcher Bridge is currently being built over the Ohio River near Owensboro. It is expected to be the new route of US 231 when complete.
Site Feature: Glen Lily Road Overpass
In 1973, an overpass over the William H. Natcher Parkway in Warren County was named "Most Beautiful Bridge" by the American Institute of Steel Construction. Click here to see photographs of the overpass taken on June 17, 2001.
